KAI-KUN'S MONTH!!!!! 8DDD

Woohoooooooooo Yayyyyyyyy, Kaiiiiiiiii! (And yes, I couldn't resist putting that ghei "rabu rabu" stamp there and abusing the sparkles XDDD)

Since yes, I am obsessed with themes and try to make my journal revolve around one every month, especially around J-rockers that I love's birthdays! Last month was dedicated to D'espa because of their 10th anniversary, and this month is dedicated to Kai since his birthday is coming up pretty soon!

What can I do in order to make my journal more Kai-themed and revolve around Kai more

Well...

I have decided that I will try to spam as much Kai pics as I can everyday! But in a rather weird unique way!

To the you few Gazefans on my F-list that are not part of the 6740329 Mania on there too, all of you know that Kai isn't as smiling as much as in the past recently in photoshoots, and that we'd all love for our sunshiney Kai-kun to smile his grin that can light up a whole city. Oh, what we'd give to see that killer smile again!

To me, personally, I don't like the "new" image Kai is putting out these days. That dark, scowling Kai... I just can't stand it! It doesn't seem like the real him! Where did our bouncy genki Kai-kun go? Was he replaced by this brooding guy who turns his face away from the camera?

Well, we can't really help it, can we... If the Gazeboys are trying to give off the "doom and gloom grrrrrr we are fierce bitches" image, then so be it. I can't change that. I would like Kai to be in another more natural photoshoot though, like that one old Arena 37C special one. The infamous photoshoot where Kai was sitting at some cafe table and grinning widely one, just like that. It would make everyone so happy again~

I really expected Kai to be his usual sunshiney self for that recent Arena 37C special photoshoot! But no, he disappointed me, he scowled yet again and made his theme for the photoshoot "Loneliness"... Or is that the real Kai that we don't really know?

Well, whoever is the real Kai and whatnot, it'd be really nice to see a smiley Kai photoshoot again.

Anyhoo! I got off-topic, sorry...

For trying to spam Kai pics, I will post pics that fit to how I'm feeling on that particular day!

For example, if I've had a bad day at school or something, I'll post a pic of scowly Kai that we commonly see nowadays. If I have a good day however, I'll post a pic of a happy Kai flashing his million-dollar smile!

In fact, I'll start right now! I'm feeling rather tired right now... And today was kind of a crappy day. Guess what happened?

I woke up early around 8 today thinking that I have to go take the practice SAT test as usual for every Saturday and went to school to take it at 9. Of course...

There was no test scheduled only for that week.

My dad kept on repeating in the car after he picked me up, "You idiot, why didn't you look at your schedule?!? How DUMB of you to wake up early for something that's not even scheduled! Why you can't even- Blah blah blah" okay enough of dat-

Yes, I was an idiot. I can blame only myself. I wasn't the only person who thought that there was a test scheduled for today, though! There were 2 other guys who totally fell for the trap along with me. *Was slightly relieved and felt a bit less like an idiot*

Man... I could've gotten a few more hours' worth of sleep... Instead, I lazed around in the morning watching TV. There was an interesting documentary about udon in Japan though! Apparently, making hand-made udon without machinery is REALLY tedious and laboring. ...it's so easy to slurp down a bowlful of udon, yet so hard to make one batch.... Kudos to all udon makers out there. m(_ _)m *Will thank the udon makers doubly if I ever go eat udon in Japan*

And so, I think that my mood for today is like this:


Yeah... I don't know if that'll thoroughly explain my mood, but it looks like Kai's got a headache here, which I have too right now. Maybe burning the meat today contributed to it... Or those annoying flies buzzing around me as I cooked it.... *Contemplates other numerous trivial reasons*

By the way, do you like that new hairstyle of Kai's? I think that it's rather cool... It's nice to see one of the members getting a new hairstyle. I never imagined Kai with dreadlocks, though! It doesn't look too bad on him, surprisingly! I think that dreadlocks suited Ruki more, but they seem to fit Kai too since I'm slowly getting more used to him with 'em... (Tsukasa: You copycat... ;A;)

I really like the Gazeboys' new look for their new release Before I Decay. YAY, COLOR Well, it's not that much, but it's nice to see some splashes of it compared to DIM, lolz.

What's with Ruki and the military hat, lmfao? Hopping on the "VK military hat" trend, Rookster? Just like Ruka, Toshiya, and the rest of those other J-rockers that I can't remember their names but have already done it before? AND AOI OMFG YOU FINALLY GOT A BETTER HAIRSTYLE COMPARED TO THAT MESSY, GREASY LOOK THAT I DIDN'T LIKE THAT MUCH AND OMFG SWEATY EXPOSED CHEST AND- Okay, my Aoi fangirlism has gotten the better of me-

Well since I'm already on the topic of the Gazeboys, what did I think of Before I Decay

It was... Meh.

I mean, it wasn't THAT bad... But.... It just brought nothing new to the table. :/

It sounds wayyyyyyyy too familiar for its own good. It's like Hyena downgraded! What a cliche chorus! It's fast, yeah, with angry Ruki, yeah, but... What else?

Here we've got a song that thinks it's so badass, with downtuned guitars, thrashing drums, and a short midget with too much bling on, screaming his head off with what sounds like a raspy vox heavily intoxicated with cigarette contamination! Is this your new style, Ruki? Raspy hoarse screaming? I mean, yeah, you've employed it before... But not as so much.... Just, Lord Almighty, please don't do it again. You are not deathcore. It just sounds like you need an oxygen mask, stat. This song was indeed a mistake. DIM leftover, much? And to think I thought it would be epic when I heard the first opening notes.....

What I CAN tell you though, is that this song will be absolutely KILLER live, because of its speed. This is definitely a live tune for riling up audiences. The studio does it no justice. I can easily imagine everyone headbanging their heads off to this and going nuts. Can't wait to see this live. Oh, and that Kai's drumming in that song was killer too. Nice cymbal and bass drum abuse, Kai!

...and then we get to Mayakashi, where everything turns even MORE generic. Suuuuure, this song sounds and feels like the good ol' indies Gazetto era and not the GazettEEEEEEE, yet.... Not!

It's like the guys finally listened to all of the fans complaining to them that they missed their old songs and tried to please them by making this song. This is probably what went down:

Ruki: So like... We need to make a song where we sound bad like in the past and didn't abuse rapping/female backup vocals that much. And when we weren't trying to be all deathcore/Non-VK Dir en grey.
Uruha: Okay! :3 *Tries to compose a song*
*LATER THAT DAY*
Uruha: I... can't do it. I don't remember what we sounded like back then. D:
The other members: *Try out the song* *Have no clue what they sounded like back then too* *Scratches heads*
Ruki: *Takes a look at the score* Ehh, whatever, I'll just throw in some old-school nostalgic syrupy vocals and it'll sound good enough. *Tosses paper and lights up 9437982th cigarette*

No wonder this song is called Mayakashi! (Whose kanji gave me a hell of a time to try to decipher! Damn you Ruki, for playing around with obscure kanjis!! *Shakes fist angrily at him*) Deception, much into thinking that the old Gazetto is back? No, I think that I can still see that huge obnoxious capital E towering past the Gazett letters.

This song is like a low-flying plane; it just cruises around for a while without gaining or dropping altitude. Yaaaaaawn. If I could describe it in one word, it'd be "Meh", or maybe even, "Whatever". Nice try though, Gazeboys. It's good to see that you're making an effort to return to your roots again. Try harder, guys! Or watch old lives of your old goofy selves back then and then get all embarrassed going, "Lololololz we were such immature dorks back then" *Takes a sip of expensive champagne* Maybe that'll bring a spark of inspiration to you uninspired bunch!

Those opening sliding guitar notes at the beginning and end are definitely catchy, though. Wheeeeeeeee, go Uruponnnnnnnnnnnnnn~

The PV for Before I Decay was really impressive too. Their PVs are getting better now. Did they get a new director? Whoever they are, they better keep 'em. Great camera angles and thoughtful places zoomed in. Ruki's red gloves were really cool and interesting; they almost look like bloody hands. Loved the breakdown scene where everyone goes insane and headbangs their heads off while Ruki is throwing a temper tantrum and spitting into the mic. Especially Aoi in there. He MOVED instead of standing still like everyone everyone!! Nice move there, Aoi-shi. And the amount of scenes he was in... I can't complain here AH!! My Aoi fangirlism acted up again! *Slaps self*

Anyways... I want you to stop stagnating with your music status and SURPRISE us again, Gazeboys! I want to be BLOWN away like when pieces of toast rocket out a toaster at light speed and crash through a nearby window!! Okay that was a weird analogy...

Hellooooo everyone~ I bring you not one, but TWO translations of interviews in one entry! In VERY late celebration of D'espa's 10th anniversary and first major single release... ^^;;; But to tell you the truth... I actually had these completely done about a week ago, but couldn't post them earlier because I decided to translate 2 interviews instead of just one, plus there was school, plus extra-curricular activities, plus going out of town, plus getting sick, etc. etc. etc. WELL I'VE DELAYED LONG ENOUGH on posting these, so let's just get to the interviews then, shall we? ;] The first interview is one that focuses more on technical musical aspects of the single, sort of like a review, while the second one focuses more on the D'espa crew's personal thoughts on the single. Both aren't that funny, so don't expect any hilarious jokes here! Although yes, the guys are still pervs at heart... XDDD You'll definitely learn some interesting things about the whole story behind the single FINAL CALL though! ;)

Karyu was severely stressed during the Europe tour and has rapidly aged acquiring new gray-... Silver strands of hair and has abused teh silvery glittery eyeshadow 'cause we all know that he's ghei like dat,

Zero is a slut like always and has switched places with Hizumi as the wtf poser,

And Tsukachi looks cheerful as always too. I LOVE THAT LOOK OF HIS. IT JUST SCREAMS SEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX SO HARD. *A* He looks SO smokin' hawt here. *Stares at him for an eternity*

I love how the guys are still combining their "new" style look with their older, darker one. Stayin' true to your roots, even if just a little, is just pure awesomesauce. 8DDD
